It’s no secret long hair on men is considered “unprofessional.” There’re a lot of jobs out there—most jobs—where you can’t have long hair. Why? Leaders, politicians, professionals, royalty, even warriors have had long hair for centuries. Remember William Wallace, guys, with the spears and the English cavalry charging? Right. Only in the past century has long hair on men become unprofessional. In today’s day and age, you can’t expect to apply for most professional-type jobs with long hair and be taken seriously.
For 12 years the Longhairs have embarked on an annual New Year’s adventure and celebration at mountain locations across the western United States. We call this trip The Experience, or EXP. On this 12th consecutive year we write you from our mountain lodge in Taos Ski Valley, New Mexico, at 9,500 feet, 9 degrees, in a snowstorm. With good friends and fellowship we reflect on the year behind us and look forward to 2015: the year of The Longhairs.

Obviously, long hair is awesome, and for countless reasons. One reason you might not realize is that long hair at high speed is outstanding. Literally—it stands out from your head because of inertia and centrifugal force acting upon it. Short hair at high speed, on the other hand…is just short hair. It looks the same at every speed, which is pretty boring to begin with.
