An atmospheric river pineapple express double whammy bomb cyclone has delivered an astonishing 92 inches of snow in the Sierra over the last five days, meanwhile generating a swell that brought 25-40 foot waves to the San Diego coastline.

(It’s not all shakas and big powder lines…our sympathies are with everyone affected by the widespread flooding, property damage and loss of life.)

This was the actual verbiage used by weather services to describe the early January low pressure systems unleashing on California, but the storms pounding the American West are but a light dusting compared to the bombs we’re gonna be dropping at The Longhairs in 2023.
