Longhairs of the Marvel Cinematic Universe – Phases 1-3
A Universe of Super-Flow
For longhairs and Marvel fans alike, I bring you the complete and definitive catalog of Marvel movie characters with long hair. I’m gonna write this from the heart, because this is, afterall, my passion project.
Just before Disney+’s WandaVision dropped in January, I rescreened all 23 Marvel films in chronological order. Where did that bring me? Back to this post.

WARNING: Marvel and Hair Spoilers ahead.
The last time I updated this post was April 23, 2019, as I anxiously awaited the Avenger’s Endgame April 26 release date, and I ended up watching the epic conclusion to Phase 3 four times in theaters. I didn’t want it to end.
Luckily for all of us, it didn’t. Spiderman Far From Home proved to be the perfect epilogue to Endgame. Now we wait, and wait, and wait for Black Widow to be released.
For 12 years now, Marvel Studios' advancements and accomplishments have echoed throughout the movie and television industry. Last year, Disney gave Feige, Favreau and company the keys to Star Wars’ Mandalorian and look how that turned out.
Warner Bros wanted a piece of the action so bad, they poached James Gunn for DC’s misfit team-up movie, Suicide Squad 2. Long story short, Marvel Studios has the secret sauce and everyone wants a taste. I’m just here to admire and enjoy it.
Ok, back to the hair.
Here at The Longhairs, we too have accomplished a unique feat in history: the compilation of a thoroughly comprehensive list of Marvel movie characters with long hair, big and small, heroes and villains, from the awkward stage to flowing super-manes.
Here you will find chronicled all of the boys and men with long hair featured in Phases 1-3 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, starting with Iron Man and ending with Spiderman Far From Home.
With WandaVision officially starting off Phase 4 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe for general audiences, this will be the last update to this post. Watch for our next post diving into Phase 4.

The Definitive Compilation of Marvel Movie Characters With Long Hair
You thought we were kidding when we said Thor wasn’t the only character on this list.
That’s it for Phases 1, 2, and 3 of the Marvel movie characters with long hair. Did I miss anyone? Who do you look forward to seeing in Phases 4, 5 and beyond? I already know I have David Harbour’s Red Guardian on my list.
Thanks for reading and stay tuned for the next blog.

I know it’s not Marvel. But I’m making an epic honorable mention here.
Aquaman
That mane is coveted by many of us longhairs 😂
It certainly is by me.
El Campeón! Yes, not Marvel, but arguably the top longhaired superhero of the 21st Century. Thanks amigo, keep lettin it ride!
No, thank you El Rubio!
You guys are badass, thank you for what you do, everyone of you.
Let it ride brother 🤘🏼
My sister sent me this link the other day. I was certainly surprised when I scrolled through and saw myself staring back at me from my phone screen. I was the vulture henchman working on the weapons in Spiderman: Homecoming. Surprised, yet extremely pleased to have made the list of Marvel longhairs.
Yo Jacob!! So stoked to hear you saw this. Welcome to the community, bro. Email me and I’ll get you dialed with some hair ties. [email protected]
I just sent an email your way. Glad to join the club.
This article and lineup of lions and their locks of justice will be part of history.
Well if we’re talking MCU TV, there are two notables you missed:
1. X-Man (from “The Gifted”) Thunderbird, a longhair with no split ends and several styles (I would braid his hair tout compris): https://thegifted.fandom.com/wiki/Thunderbird
2. Jessica Jones’ neighbor, Malcom, AKA heroin addict, AKA Dr. Who’s puppet, AKA wicked cool fro: https://marvelcinematicuniverse.fandom.com/wiki/Malcolm_Ducasse
That’s off the top of my head. Cannot WAIT or Endgame!
They might have to recast the part, though. I love Ty Burrell, but he might not have the, ahem, look, required for the Doc, unless they could do some truly mean CGI enhancement.
Of course, there are MANY who haven’t been in a movie, yet also sport the fantastic locks.
I am thinking first of Doc Samson here, and yes, although Leonard Samson DID appear in The Incredible Hulk, he didn’t have any of the flowing green we know and love. Fingers crossed that we get him someday. I mean, a hero whose powers grow as his hair gets longer? Don’t YOU feel that way? I know I do sometimes…
Samson would be SICK to bring to life! I also hope there’s a chance that Adam Warlock has long hair as his character was hinted in Guardians 2.
A couple years ago I cut off almost 20 inches of hair to donate and I’ve decided to grow it out again. I found the Longhairs doing some research and I’m thrilled because this is a solid, beautiful organization and this post seals the deal. I’m so ready to start letting it ride. Thank you Longhairs!
What’s next? How about Lord of the Rings trilogy?
I second that.
This was fun and informative for a 75 year old long hair,
Man some of those MARVEL guys are uuuggglyyyyy. Long hair or not.
Hey just wanted to add – All my life I have had various hairstyles of the times.
Crew Cut, Princeton, Afro Perm, Shoulder Length, Shaved Head. I saw your website and how to take care of long hair.
Bought your bands and let the white grow. It’s now about 14 Inches feels good and very liberating. OK OK it’s not as thick or luxurious as you guys or the guy who posts ‘Mane Updates’ but it’s cool and MY hippy reflection.
Attempt? HA! There is no try.
Good job, El Chuckarino. I heard the voice of the Moviefone guy as I was reading.
I’m at the Bucky stage. Bangs just past my nose. I’ve been waiting for this stage. The best actor with this look was Milo Ventimiglia as Peter Petrelli in hero’s. That rebellious, I don’t give af look. You know the person you’re talking to wants to snip your bangs off right there, and you kind of enjoy their torture.
I’ve missed a lot of these shows. Is there a site with a good chronological watch list?
