14 Months of Growth—And It’s More Than Just Hair

14 Months Growth

Here we are at 14 months of hair growth, and I think it’s safe to say the hardest parts of the growth process are behind me. Smooth sailing from here out, because full flow is on the horizon.

I've had it easier than most, as illustrated in my one year hair update, breaking down the Awkward Stage Resistance Points and how I'm in a unique position compared to most. Regardless how easy or tough you have it, there is one thing we can all agree on when it comes to growing long hair:

It takes commitment.

Now at 14 months hair growth and reflecting on how much my appearance has changed over that time, I ask myself, where else can I apply the same level of commitment?

If my hair can grow like this in 14 months, how else can I grow? Physically, mentally, emotionally, as a friend, a father, a business owner? What could these aspects of my life look like in 14 months with the same commitment?

The Truth Is...

Even if you are kicking ass there is still room to improve. I'm currently working on these aspects of my life, letting my hair be the physical embodiment and visual representation of my total growth as a person.

I like to imagine if I majorly slack in any of these areas that someone will come and cut my hair off. I'd have to start all over, get recycled to the beginning and that would suck!

For me that's enough motivation to stay focused and keep working to improve. I'm going for small gains that add up over time...just like hair growth.

We're all going to have setbacks and make some mistakes, but using this method has helped me to focus. Maybe it will work for you as well, I urge you to give it a try.

Side note: If you want to take this to the next level, get an accountability partner WHO WILL cut your hair if you quit on what you’re working to improve on. Maybe it will help you stay focused and push you even further.

Where To Go From Here

ONWARD!!

As the hair growth continues, a few styles have been especially helpful. A couple weeks ago I published a comprehensive list of Awkward Stage Hairstyles, but these have been the most useful in the rotation.

  1. Neat thing I’ve been doing to hold it back is to use a pair of sunglasses. I got a sick pair from the great cut!

  2. Senor El Moreno: i understand after making your first ponytail you have drunk two glasses of tequila; each longhair did it, and more…
but, please, avoid riding your bike in the desert after !!!………;;lol

  3. I can appreciate your sentiment in being your best in all aspects of your life. I take this approach with everything I do; hair, hobbies, career, marriage, and being a dad. My hair has taught me that I have patience and due diligence that I can relate to other things as well. Btw, at 14 months your hair looks great! Amazing how fast you’re getting back to being a long hair after having your head shaved!

Thanks man! Crazy how fast the time has passed. Good to hear we are taking the same approach. We got to get you back on the podcast. Would be fun to catch up especially with everything you’ve been doing in the facebook group.
