2023 Long Hair Costume Contest Winners
We All Go A Little Mad Sometimes
Before we dive into the costume contest winners, it’s worth considering this fascinating phenomenon, where people all over the country, and in many places around the world, dress themselves in elaborate costumes for a night of gallivanting and mischief.
Whether scary or funny, an amazingly accurate portrayal of popular culture, completely absurd or borderline offensive, we enrobe ourselves in costumes by the masses, some going to extraordinary lengths in their mission to come up with the best costume imaginable. An outside observer might call us mad.
Why Do We Wear Costumes?
Not gonna claim any deep, philosophical answers here, but the cultural evidence is clear: it’s fun. When friends do it with you, it’s more fun. When you continuously refine your costume until it’s perfect, it’s even more fun. And when it all comes together in a legendary long hair community costume contest…it’s electrifying.
Why Does Long Hair Amplify Our Costumes Exponentially?
Simple fact, like gravity. You can debate all you want, but the results speak for themselves.
As such The Longhairs will continue the hard lean into Halloween, and if you need a better explanation we’ll offer up two of our core values: creativity and authenticity, and team spirit and contagious enthusiasm.
Who Are The Halloween Costume Contest Winners??
Having garnered 133 submissions, thus securing the title as the most epic long hair costume contest in history, our panel of longhaired costume enthusiasts had an extremely difficult task in selecting the winners.
The costume review was astonishing and uproarious. A few costumes were popular, but there was a great breadth of variety and creativity. The execution fell on a spectrum from cute and simple, to full-blown Hollywood-level production…but they were all awesome.
While dozens of entries set a high bar for creativity, execution, and sheer awesomeness, we had to narrow it down…and with that we proudly present the 2023 long hair costume contest winners!
