Presentando…El Sicario

Security Detail

We didn’t know it at the time, but soon after this podcast our guest would become the newest member of The Longhairs’ staff, effectively forcing his way onto the team through continuously showing up and performing hard labor before even sniffing a job offer. He’s also leading the charge on the local San Diego Street Team, and will presumably enforce our security detail at the warehouse. His name is Jose Mejia, but we call him El Sicario—systematically eliminating inferior hair ties and hair care products.

You don’t rise to the occasion; you fall to your level of preparation.
Born and raised in San Diego, with an intrinsic need to fight and prove himself, he joined the Marine Corps right out of high school, and soon qualified as a Reconnaissance Marine. As a Recondo he saw combat on several tours of duty in Afghanistan, ultimately learning he didn’t have to prove himself to anyone—except himself.
You don’t want to be on the wrong side of a marine reconnaissance mission.

His travels brought him closer in touch with his Chamorro ancestry, gaining appreciation for Chamorro culture and spirit, which influenced him to grow long hair.

Now Jose Mejia is here, on The Longhairs podcast, having even coined the name of our unanimous new fan favorite Hair Ties For Guys, The Big Manas.
